About

Seeing the value in tentative rulings, a few California attorneys began collecting them many years ago. The purpose was simply to use them (in connection with other resources) in the representation of their own clients in various matters. The attorneys consulted the rulings for use in their own practice for years – and shared them with others in the community from time to time.

Finally, in early 2015, after years of urging by other attorneys (and at a time when the collection had grown to thousands of rulings), they partnered with developers to build a searchable database that allows attorneys to research trial court judges like never before – and made it available to the public. The result is Bench Reporter.
